The Wynn Summer Classic is always a tournament schedule that players attending the World Series of Poker like to keep an eye on. With bumper guarantees, huge prize pools mean added value, especially with tourists packing Sin City during the summer.

This summer, the Wynn Summer series will see the poker tables filled between May 31st and July 20th, the same dates the WSOP is on, with several seven-figure guarantees on offer.

What is Taking Place?

The Wynn Summer Classic has a huge range of events on the line-up this year, with that wallet-pleasing total guarantee of $15 million. The Wynn was delighted to announce the series on Twitter earlier this week.

With events costing between $500 and $5,500 in the Wynn Summer Classic, there will be no shortage of action as a variety of poker formats jostle for attention. There will be tournaments taking place in Pot Limit Omaha, Limit Omaha 8 or Better, H.O.R.S.E., and 8-Game Mix as well as traditionally popular No Limit Hold’em events.

There are a total of seven million-dollar-plus tournament guarantees, with a $600-entry event kicking off the series. That event alone has a terrific guarantee of $200,000 and the Seniors Event follows hot on its heels, with $550 the buy-in and a guarantee of $50,000.

Events on the Calendar

There are plenty of juicy events for players to enjoy at the Wynn Summer Series, with a $1,100 tournament on June 7th sure to be very popular.  The event has three separate Day 1s, with a massive guarantee of $1 million.

Another event that will be guaranteed to fill up is the $2,200-entry Mystery Bounty event. With a number of similar events on the schedule, this particular Mystery Bounty tournament has a guarantee of $2.5 million.

The Main Event — titled the NLH Championship – has a $3,500 buy-in and takes place over three days, with a whopping guarantee of $3.5 million. The Main Event starts on July 24th and ends on July 28th.

Finale Promises to Pay Back Casino Staff

“It promises to be quite the season for players of all levels.”

The series has a final event that starts on July 18th, with the $500-entry Casino Employee Mystery Bounty being a two-day event with a $100,000 guarantee. Traditionally, the World Series of Poker Main Event sees casino staff rewarded for their loyalty and service by holding the opening event of the WSOP for them. Thus, on May 31st, casino staff will be able to play that opening event.

At the Wynn Summer Classic, the closing event will give casino employees the chance to round off their summer in stunning fashion with a win of their own. It promises to be quite the season for players of all levels, with big guarantees and some superb structures adding up to a Wynn Summer Series than runs exactly parallel with the action at Bally’s and Paris.
