The latest GGPoker Sunday Million Super High Roller tournament saw 62 entries and a prize pool of over $1.5 million shared out between the winners.

With just eight of those, the top prize ended up being a massive $386,216 as Elio Fox and Stephen Chidwick agreed on a deal to close out the popular GGPoker flagship Sunday event.

Koon and Martirosian Miss the Money

With 62 overall entries, several players put two or more buy-ins of $25,000 into the prizepool. One of those to do so was the GGPoker ambassador Jason Koon, but despite not one, not two but three entries, Koon missed out on a return on his investment, finishing in 11th place and fading profit by just three places.

Only the top eight players would cash despite nine making the official final table. Out in 10th place was Austrian Pokercode co-founder Matthias Eibinger, whose luck ran out just outside the final table too.

It would be a big winner who missed out at the last chance saloon, with three-time Super MILLION$ winner Artur Martirosian, who won last week’s tournament for over $500,000. The Russian pro busted in 9th place, meaning Justin Bonomo added to his poker profits with a min-cash worth $65,308 for coming eighth.

Three Online Poker Legends Depart

Brazilian star Yuri Dzivielevski crashed out.

Out in seventh place was the second Russian of the two who made the final table. The player known as ‘spaise411’ has enjoyed a very profitable record on GGPoker and regularly makes the final table of the Super MILLION$. They couldn’t last any longer here, however, busting in seventh place for $84,808.

A man who spent much of 2020 and 2021 as the online world number one was to leave the action in sixth place as the first six-figure score of the event was claimed. Brazilian star Yuri Dzivielevski crashed out, earning $110,130 for his efforts but was slightly short from the latter stages where the really big money was on offer.

Canadian superstar Daniel Dvoress has been remarkably consistent over the last few years, but he was unable to make any more progress, busting in fifth place for $143,013. Dvoress has won over $500,000 in online tournaments alone over the last 12 months and added over a quarter of that amount in this event.

Fox and Chidwick Chop It Up

With three players left, the third Brazilian at the final table busted short of the heads-up clash as Pedro Garagnani lost his seat. Cashing for $241,166, Garagnani made the podium but missed out on the top two and it was even worse for him very soon after as the remaining pair agreed a deal.

Both Elio Fox and Stephen Chidwick have superb records in high roller tournaments, and they earned the right to do a deal. That they did, with over $719,000 remaining in the prize pool. With the numbers adding up for the pair, Chidwick took home the runner-up prize of $333,640. Banking the top prize of $386,216, Elio Fox crowned the event as the winner, sealing yet another high roller victory in a hugely successful career.

Chidwick, who took part in the 2022 PokerGO Cup live on PokerGO last week, has shown already in 2022 that he is one to be reckoned with in the next year.
