An exciting final table saw Dario Sammartino and Felipe Ramos both busted early as first-time Super MILLION$ winner ‘Godofbaccarat’ from Canada win their first title on Tuesday night.
Taking the title at a stacked final table, Godofbaccarat won the top prize of $454,907 after outlasting a final nine also including players such as Weiran Pu and Wictor Malinowski.
Early Stages Stun Favorites
With Irish poker legend, Unibet Poker Pro and Gamble Online contributor Dara O’Kearney on co-commentary, this week’s Super MILLION$ was a terrific watch. Kevin Martin – now settled into his regular spot as presenter with a different co-host each week – introduced the action with style and it was a good job, with 45 minutes elapsing before the first player hit the rail.
When that happened, it was the 2019 WSOP Main Event runner-up Dario Sammartino who busted, winning $56,863 when his pocket sixes were outrun by ‘rivfun4me’ who held ace-king. Montenegrin player ‘IslandBoys’ was out next in eighth place, claiming $73,742 for his run to the final table. He was all-in with ace-king but ran into the pocket aces of Wiktor Malinowksi. An ace and a king arrived on the flop, but that didn’t help the Montenegrin as well as damaging Godofbaccarat with pocket jacks.
It was Brazilian player Felipe Ramos who exited the final in seventh place, winning $95,632 for his close call. He shoved from the button with pocket threes and couldn’t hold when ‘rivfun4me’ called with ace-queen and turned Broadway as the board came 9-T-J-K-K.
Malinowski Makes His Leave
Polish player Wiktor Malinowski, who has played cash games for six-figure sums online, was the next player to leave. It was some plummet, too, with him having been chip leader with six remaining. Crashing out in sixth place, Malinowski won $124,020 when his king-jack couldn’t beat Weiran Pu’s ace-jack for a pot worth 3 million chips.
Brazilian player Rodrigo Selouan made the choice to shove with ace-six of clubs for what would be a chip-leading pot but ran into the pocket jacks of ‘rivfun4me’, as the board ran out with only one club and no ace. Selouan busted in fifth for a score worth $160,834, as his Macau-based counterpart took a massive chip lead.
It was the Chinese player ‘d7777’, an experienced satellite qualifier, who departed in fourth place for $208,576. Their shove with ace-eight of spades got a call from Godofbaccarat with pocket tens and a ten on the turn and no Broadway miracle on the river ended the hopes of one of two Chinese players in the final four.
Continental Trio Battle for Glory
Weiran Pu followed his compatriot out of the door in third place, busting with pocket sevens against ‘rivfun4me’ with pocket nines. The eight-high board never looked likely to give the China-based player a reprieve, and he busted for a score of $270,489.
Godofbaccarat had the chip lead and in a dramatic final hand, he was all-in with eight-deuce of hearts against the ace-jack off-suit of ‘rivfun4me’. On the flop, there was an ace and two hearts and while the turn would be a safe three of spades, the river was the four of hearts, giving Godofbaccarat the title and $454,907 top prize, and Macau-based ‘rivfun4me’ the $350,781 runner-up prize.
