Ever turned $5 into $1.1 million? Frank Nagy did—A New Jersey won an over a million-dollar jackpot on a progressive poker game on Saturday.

Nagy, of Monomouth County, has been a long-time patron of the Tropicana casino. His win broke records, too—The jackpot is the largest won in a progressive poker game in parent company Caesar’s Entertainment history.

How did Nagy celebrate? He gave the dealers working at the time a $50,000.00 tip. Looks like Nagy wasn’t the only one bringing home a nice chunk of change that day.

The jackpot was last hit in August 2019 — when the jackpot went over $1 million,

players flocked to the casino to play. To qualify for the progressive jackpot offered by Caesar’s, players had their choice of games at Tropicana, Caesars Atlantic City, and Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City. The progressive jackpot was available at six different poker games at Tropicana: 4-Card Poker, Let it Ride, Mississippi Stud, Texas Hold’em, and 3-Card Poker.

What’s a progressive jackpot?

A progressive jackpot is when the jackpot increases with each game — the more time the game is played and lost, the larger the jackpot is. Typically, the jackpot is reset after this and it continues to grow again.
