With the World Series of Poker around the corner, Las Vegas will be abuzz from the start of October right through until the end of November. One festival that players of mixed games will be interested in, however, takes place just two miles away as the crow flies.
From October 4th_7th this year, the inaugural Cardplayer Lifestyle Mixed Game Festival will take place at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
Not only will be there be plenty for lovers of poker games that can’t be found anywhere else to enjoy but the first PokerStars Platinum Pass in 18 months will be awarded.
A Festival 12 Years in the Making
With cash games and tournaments alike, Cardplayer Lifestyle’s Robbie Strazynski will host the brand’s first-ever festival in the 12 years since they came into being. The festival will have three days of low-stakes Dealer’s Choice cash games and a $200-entry H.O.R.S.E. tournament thereafter, it promises to be great fun for poker players of any level.
From Monday, October 4th through Wednesday, October 6th, the Cardplayer Lifestyle Mixed Game Festival will host cash games before that all-important $200 H.O.R.S.E. tournament. That kicks off at 12 noon on Thursday, October 7th, where the world’s first 2022 PokerStars Platinum Pass worth $30,000 will be awarded to the lucky winner. Registration opens at 10.00 am on Monday, October 4th at the Westgate Las Vegas Poker Room.
So how does it work? Well, it couldn’t be simpler. Or every five hours of Dealer’s Choice cash game that players are present for from October 4th–6th inclusive, they’ll earn starting chips for that H.O.R.S.E. tournament. Did someone say energy drinks and bring your own pillow? It sounds like missing a hand would be the wrong move!
A Galaxy of Extras at Westgate
It’s not just the cash games and tournaments that attract players to a poker festival, however, and over a decade in the industry has given Strazynski an intimate knowledge of what poker players of all levels really want.
Giving players plenty of extras, there will be a raft of extras on offer to poker hopefuls throughout the four-day festival.
These include but aren’t limited to:
- PokerStars and other poker brand merchandise giveaways
- $7 time rake per dealer down
- FREE Fruit & Vegetable Platters throughout cash games
- Gift Bags from BBO Poker Tables
- LIMITED EDITION T-shirts from RunGoodGear
- Two-deck setups from Faded Spade Playing Cards

Wednesday, October 6th sees the festival welcome Poker Hall of Famer Linda Johnson and Women in Poker Hall of Famer Jan Fisher come along at the same time of 11 am.
The two poker legends will be taking questions on all things mixed games as well as putting some poker strategies out there for free, so be sure not to miss out.
