WSOP Online Main Event Day 1d Sees Chris Moorman and Daniel Dvoress Progress

The latest day of action in the World Series of Poker’s Online Series saw Day 1d of the Main Event produce plenty of drama. Across an exciting flight, 115 players made the cut as the busiest day of WSOP Online Main Event action took place on GGPoker.

Bumper Field Full of Stars

The fourth and latest flight of the $5,000-entry WSOP Online Main Event took place on Sunday into Monday on GGPoker, with a total of 716 players battling it down to the final 115 over the course of several hours. When the dust settled, it was the Cypriot player Angelos ‘Aggelaras17’ Michael who ended the day as chip leader.

With the biggest flight so far producing the most entries, the prize pool for the tournament overall, which is guaranteed at $20 million, has already gone past $12 million after just four opening flights. There is still Day 1e and Day 1f to come in the coming days, before Day 2 kicks off on Monday 26^th September. Luke Bindel was the leader after Day 1c but Angelos Michael bagged a huge 1,290,894 to take the lead after Day 1d. Of all the Day 1 chip leaders after four opening flights of the seven to take place, Michael’s haul is actually the lowest, despite it coming after more opponents than ever took to the virtual felt. Day 1a saw Leonard ‘Sheogorath’ Mendes bag up 1,403,424, while Day 1b’s Xing He totalled 1,505,388 to take the lead and Day 1c’s Bindel ended his flight with 1,341,648 chips.

Who Else Made the Top 10 Chipcounts?

While Michael bagged the lead on the day after Day 1d closed for the night, Norwegian-based player ‘fishwnuts’ was able to join him on over a million chips. Bagging up 1,131,377, the Norway player was the only other person to end the night in seven figures, with Brazilian player Pedro Madeira coming in third on 980,676.

Elsewhere in the upper limits of the leaderboard, Luxembourg player ‘UrineTrouble’ wasn’t taking the… mickey when they finished in fourth on a haul of 897,452, while Stefan Jedlicka from Austria rounded out the top five on 884,838. Slovenian player Ales Resman was a short amount behind on a still-impressive total of 865,042.

Completing the top ten chipcounts were four players of varying experience. Well-known professional Adrian Buckley (784,675) ended the flight in seventh place, while Maksym Loboda from the Ukraine closed out the night a little further back on 713,960. A three-bet behind him was the Chinese player ‘Tornadoaj’ (707,980), while Indian player ‘REPP’ piled up 689,182 chips.

Famous Names Fall and Rise

There were plenty of superstars who made the cut on Day 1d, but equally, there were some very big names who fell by the wayside. Of those who survived, Vicente Delgado (684,230) was joined in the end-of-day counts by WSOP bracelet winners Chris Moorman (668,900) and Daniel Dvoress (453,484).

Moorman has won two WSOP bracelets and Dvoress one, so the possibility exists that either man will add to their bracelet totals with a new one, and this time online. There would hardly be a more fitting result for either man, but certainly in the case of Moorman, officially the most successful online tournament poker player of all time, it would be the icing on the cake of his online career.

Some very big names busted on Day 1d, with Patrick Tardif and Lucas Greenwood unlucky to lose out late in the day. Tardiff was the bubble boy, busting in 116^th place, one place short of the end-of-day counts, while Greenwood lost out one place sooner in 117^th. Others to miss out on a Day 2 stack included All-Time Money List leader Justin Bonomo, Vanessa Kade, and Benjamin Rolle.
