WSOP Online Main Event Days 1e and 1f Produce 109 Survivors

The latest WSOP Online Series Main Event flights have produced over 100 survivors as the field narrows in the $20 million guaranteed tournament. It may not be the $10,000-entry WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas, but the top prize is likely to be life-changing for anyone other than the world’s elite players.

With players such as 2020 WSOP Hybrid Main Event winner Damian Salas, German crusher Christian Rudolph, brilliant Brazilian Eder Campana and online wizard Linus Loeliger all surviving, there were two very intriguing days to look back on.

The Numbers Game

Recent World Series of Poker events have taken place online, with players such as Chris Moorman and Daniel Dvoress both making it through to Day 2 from Day 1d last week and several bracelets won in the past seven days by players such as Mark Radoja, Jeremy Ausmus and Jesse Lonis.

Costing $5,000 to enter, this year’s WSOP Online Main Event has been an exciting one and has taken players closest to that feeling of walking into Bally’s (or Paris) casinos in Las Vegas to play for the World Championship. Each player’s $5,000 accounts for a 60,000-chip starting stack, which equates to 300 big blinds.

Day 2 itself will take place on October 2nd, with play only ending on that day when the final table of nine has been reached. That’s when play will pause and play down to a winner the next night with cards-up coverage exclusively on GGPoker.

Day 1e Drama Sees 53 Players Progress

It took just nine hours of play on Day 1e to whittle the starting field of 356 players down to less than 10% of their number as 53 players survived the action. A total of 2,885 players had entered the Online Main Event at this point, with 437 players progressing through to Day 2 from Day 1a to Day 1e.

Players such as Polish online crusher Wiktor Malinowski, the man known as ‘Big Huni’, Chris Hunichen, Hungarian former Super MILLION$ Winner Andras Nemeth and Russian Artur Martirosian all crashed out, but others thrived in the red-hot atmosphere of the WSOP Online Main Event, including legendary online player Linus Loeliger (501,413), Greek crusher Ioannis Konstas (251,882) and Spanish high roller regular Sergi Reixach (576,582) all progressing.

The man who finished top of the leaderboard at the end of Day 1e was Indian professional Pulkit Goyal (1,165,881) followed by ‘Leopard Z’ (1,117,543) and ‘xADA’ (1,003,060) in the official end-of-day chipcounts. They were joined in the top ten by players such as Boris Angelov (873,235), Christian Rudolph (816,154), and Danilo Demetrio (601,723) among others as the cream rose to the top on Day 1e.

Day 1f Fills Up for 56 Players to Progress

The latest Day 1 flight of the WSOP Online Main Event saw 56 players make it through to the next stage of the tournament, with 380 players taking on the $5,000-entry event and just 56 of them progressing. Those numbers took the total entries in this year’s 2022 WSOP Online Main Event to a mammoth 3,265, meaning another $1.8 million went towards the guaranteed prizepool of $20 million, with over $15.5m now in the kitty with two Day 1s remaining.

The total of players now into Day 2 sits at 493, with the 15 levels of Day 1f producing plenty of big names in the Day 2 seat draw. Brazilian players in particular had a field day, with high roller Eder Campana (845,058), Dennys Ramos (713,493), Eduardo Pires (637,358), Pedro Garagnani (393,042), Michel Dattani (203,192) and Murilo Nascimento (678,634) all taking their place on the leaderboard when play was completed for the day.

At the close of Day 1f, it was the Kazakhstani player ‘Braniak6388’ who ended the session with the lead, holding 1,309,818 chips. Close behind them was Pavels Spirins (1,119,015), with Simon Mattsson (885,053) in third. With big players such as 2020 WSOP Hybrid Main Event world champion Damian Salas (295,303), bracelet winners Ami Barer (501,359) and Jans Arends (383,820) all making it through to Day 2, there are sure to be fireworks between WSOP bracelet winners when the cards are back in the air!
